A Message from the PTA President

Hello Sangster families,

It’s a big week for the PTA! Not only do we have a lot of Teacher Appreciation Week fun planned, we also have our last PTA meeting of the year, followed by our Carnival.

Please join us in person on Thursday, May 9 at 7 p.m. in the library for our May PTA General Membership meeting, where will have our principal updates and vote in the new board members for the 2024/2025. We are still looking for several critical positions, including a Vice President, so PLEASE reach out to Janessa if you are interested.

Then on Friday, it’s time for our beloved Carnival and Pie in the Face! Don’t forget to purchase your Carnival tickets here. Also, if you would like to make an online donation to the Pie in the Face competition, you can do so here.

Thank you as always for your support. It’s going to be a fun week, Sangster (and a great week to close out my time with the PTA, but I’ll spare you my rambling until next week’s update)!

Planning a birthday party or playdate? You can find students and parents by name, grade, or class! The directory is available to current PTA members at https://sangster.memberhub.com/directory. To access the directory, log in to Givebacks (formerly Member Hub) and click on Directory on the left menu. If you don’t have an account yet, follow the instructions under “First Time Logging In?” to set up your profile. All students are included in the directory unless they have opted out. If you prefer not to be listed in the directory, you may log in to your profile to adjust your visibility settings. Not a PTA member yet? Join today! Shopping for Sangster

Box Tops For Education is now in a digital format. Please download the free Box Tops app to scan your receipts to automatically apply any Box Tops earnings to our school fund. For more information about qualifying products, please visit: https://www.boxtops4education.com. Online shopping qualifies too!

Sangster PTA is enrolled in Shop with Scrip! This app allows you to easily purchase e-gift cards and physical gift cards! Visit https://shop.shopwithscrip.com to download, and use the code 88EF2LB783L77 when you enroll. When you make a purchase, for a $0.15 bank transaction fee, a portion of the money goes to our PTA! We will place several bulk orders for physical gift cards during the year, but cards can be purchased at any time.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The following PTA Board and Committee Lead positions are open for the 2024–2025 school year:

Sangster PTA Vice President — This position works alongside the Sangster PTA President in executing the PTA mission in accordance with the bylaws.

Membership/Directory Coordinator — Promotes membership throughout the school year and coordinates the online directory via Givebacks in late fall.

Reflections Coordinator — Coordinates the Reflections program with the Sangster community in the fall.

Sprout Coordinator — Coordinates the Sprout school supplies program with the Sangster community for the 2025/2026 school year in the spring.

New Executive Board members will be voted in at the May PTA General Membership meeting. If you are interested in learning more, please reach out to Janessa Worrell at sangstervicepresidentpta@gmail.com.

You are invited to join the unofficial Facebook group for the Sangster community, Sangster Parents. Please note that anyone who requests to join, including someone added by an existing group member, must answer the membership questions and check the box indicating agreement to abide by the group rules. If your membership has not been approved, this is likely why; check your Facebook messages (you may have to dig around for the section for messages from non-friends) for assistance from an admin.
